Ok, here’s what you need to know about The Thief. It’s a badge – but not just any badge.

You know the badges that Click-Track-Profit is hiding everywhere, that you can find and collect during your regular traffic surfing?

The Thief is a special badge – only one person can have it at a time. You get it by “stealing” it from someone else. But first you need to find it! Yes it’s a kind of game, it’s fun, and it’s a good way to get to know other Click-Track-Profit members.

The Thief - a special Click-Track-Profit badge

Steal the Thief!

So how do you find this Thief badge? First you need to know what you’re looking for. That’s the guy on the right there, dark  and spooky, looks a little like Darth Vader, right? Helmet dude – you can almost hear his raspy breathing. If I have the badge, it shows up in the badge collection on my CTP Profile Page.

Look at the Friends panel on my Profile Page. Don’t be confused, that’s not the Thief badge, that’s my friend Rob Paris, aka “cruisin,” who has made himself unofficial KEEPER of the THIEF. He even renamed himself “Darth Raider Was Here.” You can visit Rob’s profile by clicking on that icon in my Friends panel. Once you’re on his page, check his badges! Is one of them the Thief? If so you can steal it simply by writing a comment on Rob’s profile page. After that, the Thief is yours… until someone else steals it away from you!

If Rob doesn’t have the Thief, then look at the comments on his page to track down who has stolen it from him. (Maybe me?) You can click people’s names in the Comments section to go to their profile page. You can jump from one profile to the next that way – that’s how to track down The Thief. Along the way, why not invite others to be your friend? There’s a button for that. You can make a lot of friends in the CTP Social Network just by playing The Thief Game. Have fun!

  1. Great! I never understood how this was working, that is until now! Thanks for the Thief! ;-)

  2. A great post on the thief at CTP.
Yes along the way he picked up the name of Darth Jnr so thus the birth of Darth Raider Was Here he is in no way a relation of Darth Vader it just seemed and sounded better than just thief.
I started becoming the keeper of the thief badge after I realised I would never acquire as many badges as others and it was a good way to meet others at CTP and get them involved in the game.

So stay tuned as Darth Raider has acquired a domain and will try and invent some more silliness to add to the whole thing.
Who knows there might even be a badge to be had.

    Darth Raider Was Here 8-)

Darth Junior? Somehow that doesn’t carry quite the force and sense of ominous power and doom of “Darth Raider.” I think you made a good choice there, o keeper of The Thief.

(Hey Darth Junior, I think I hear your little boy Luke Jr. calling you!)

Quick count how many times Darth Raider has stolen Thief badge: 1241

    And Tame Bear: 75

Here’s a suggestion that could make the game just a little harder.

I know how easy it is to leave a quick silly comment on someone’s Profile page in order to steal the badge — it’s fun too reading all those comments. But you might actually be able to throw somebody off the trail by leaving more ordinary conversational comments and really engaging with people.

Did you know you can use comments to talk about other programs you are working? Including URLs? I do this all the time. The URLs aren’t clickable but they can be copied and pasted. Others chasing down the Thief might pause and be distracted just long enough to go check out your URL. Think about it.

  5. Thanks for the great post here! I never knew how to get the Thief badge before either. That is way cool now that I know how. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun trying to find it! Maybe I will sneak around and look for it tomorrow or sometime when people least expect it. LOL

    Thanks again…that is awesome!

  6. Very helpful post. I just went to Robs site and stole the badge lol

  7. Tame Bear says:

Yeah, I steal the Thief from Rob all the time… he usually swipes it back a few minutes later. The trick is to figure out when he’s SLEEPING! :)

  8. Darth Raider says:

    Sleep LOL

Yes many try and work that one out.

Amazing what a good Thief can achieve in there sleep.

    The Thief has other badges.
Find the Thief and click on him while he is on your profile and get the Snooper Badge.

Gotta Run some one just stole something from me and threatened to wash it. Grave fears for there safety.

    Darth or was it Rob

Rob tells us he is no longer “keeper of the badge.” Seems he was unhappy with “burying” (piling on a bunch of badges in order to hide the Thief) and “ping-pong” (two people rapidly stealing it back and forth from each other. That means the Thief badge is now A LOT HARDER TO FIND — and you’ll need to go visiting more CTP members’ profile pages in order to find it. That will probably add a new dimension to the game.
